Overview
Echo Records is an independent label specialising in electronic and experimental music. They needed a visual identity that could flex across genres while maintaining a cohesive brand presence.
The Challenge
Record labels need visual systems that are distinctive enough to be recognisable but flexible enough to accommodate wildly different artists and genres. Echo needed a brand that could contain multitudes.
Creative Strategy
We developed a generative visual system based on sound waveforms — each release gets a unique visual treatment generated from its audio fingerprint, but all releases share a common structural DNA. The brand is both unified and infinitely variable.
Execution
The identity includes a modular logotype, a custom typeface for release titles, and a design system that generates unique artwork for each release. Physical packaging uses tactile printing techniques — embossing, foil stamping, and textured papers — that make each record an object.
